Who welcomes you

Besma Satouri

I welcome you gently, without judgement, as you are here and now.

Besma Satouri, kinesiologist in Lyon

I welcome you as you arrive

My name is Besma Satouri. I am a kinesiologist, and I welcome you at the Cabinet Au Fil de Soi, 4 place d’Ainay, in the heart of Lyon’s Presqu’île. Six practices live side by side in that room: kinesiology, Tuina massage, lymphatic drainage, maderotherapy, family constellations, and soon dry cupping.

They are six ways in, not six catalogues. Some people arrive with a very precise request — heavy legs at the end of the day, a neck that will not let go. Others arrive with something blurred, that they have not yet managed to put into words. Both can be worked with, and the second is in fact the more common of the two.

What I have to offer comes down to an hour without a watch, listening without judgement, and a framework I set out from the start so that you know exactly where you are stepping. You keep your hand on everything, from beginning to end.

My own words, in French — “reconnecting with what comes naturally to you”.

I welcome you gently, without judgement, as you are here and now.

The background

Who I trained with

I have completed five certified training courses, with three training bodies that I name here. In practices where there is no state diploma, that is the surest marker for choosing who to place your trust in.

  1. Kinesiology

    SYNAPKIN

This is the training my practice is built on. Muscle testing, the rebalancing protocols, primitive reflexes in children: everything I do in a kinesiology session comes from there. I work with babies through to adults.

  2. Family constellations

    TOTEM Formations

Constellations call for a framework, and a framework is something you learn. My training with TOTEM covers how to lead group work as much as what a facilitator must never do: interpret in someone’s place, or ask them to cut a family tie.

  3. Wellbeing massage

    MAGIC HANDS

Tuina massage, lymphatic drainage and maderotherapy all come from that training. Three very different sets of hands — the first firm, the second extremely gentle, the third vigorous — and each one asks for its own touch.

Everything above can be checked. So can what happens week to week at the practice.

AU FIL DE SOI

What is not up for negotiation

Six ways of welcoming you

These are not promises about what you will feel. They are the six things I undertake to hold to, at every appointment, whatever the session and whatever brings you.

  • Listening

A time to talk before anything starts. That is where the session gets decided.

  • Trust

You keep your hand on the intensity, from beginning to end.

  • Gentleness

A slow, steady touch, never abrupt, never forced.

  • Honesty

Saying what a session does not do, as plainly as what it offers.

  • Respect

Your pace, your silence if that is what you want, your place at the centre.

  • Steadiness

An appointment set in advance is worth more than a good intention.

The way I work

What you can expect

The detail changes from one practice to the next — the full sequence is on the page of each session, and the six sessions at the practice are gathered in one place. If you are not sure which one to take, we can talk it through before you book. These four moments, though, are the same every time.

  1. Before anything starts

    We talk first

What brings you here, at your pace, in your words. It is not an interrogation, and you have nothing to prepare: « I am not really sure why I am here » is a valid starting point.

  2. Two minutes

    You settle in

Fully clothed for kinesiology and constellations. Under a sheet for Tuina, drainage and maderotherapy: only the area being worked is uncovered, the rest stays covered.

  3. The heart of the session

    We work

You keep your hand on the intensity from beginning to end. A pressure bothers you, a word jars, you want to stop: you say so, and I adjust straight away.

  4. Five minutes

    Nobody rushes

A moment coming back to quiet, a glass of water, and you leave at your own pace — often with one simple thing to do again at home.

What I do not do

I make no diagnosis, I offer no treatment for any illness, I replace no medical follow-up, and I will never ask you to change or to stop anything that has been prescribed to you. If something worries you about your health, your doctor remains the right person to speak to — and they come before me. The sessions I offer are wellbeing support.
